The church office has been notified of a spoofing email making the rounds to various South Georgia United Methodists appearing as a message from Pastor Bruce. This most recent email is from “bruce.kingslandfirstumc@gmail.com,” a fake, spoofed email account that has NO ties to Pastor Bruce.
Please know that the Pastor will never ask for a donation, gift cards, or any kind of transfer of money via email.
We recommend that you don’t open attachments or give your personal information to anyone unless you are sure about the email address.
We have reported the account and ask that you submit/flag the email to your provider as spam. Please do not forward the email to anyone.
Remember now and in the future that the church sends emails from official conference email addresses only.
Anytime you receive what seems to be a suspicious email, check the church website for confirmation before clicking links or responding to the email.
